A core group of teachers in the EVSC’s Community of Digital Educators (C.O.D.E) -- established in the 2011-12 school year -- has been working to help other teachers with digital education opportunities for their classrooms. The CODE is a group of educators that were selected because of their media-rich digital classrooms and their interest in helping others.
The focus of the CODE’s work includes student-centered learning that is globally-connected, real-world and project-based. Participants of the CODE work together to critically examine, design and share effective practices that re-define learning for the digital age. Teachers in the CODE often open their classrooms so that others can learn how they use technology. Ideas, projects, software, and more can be found by grade level on the CODE website for teachers to use.
