Close Contact/Quarantine

Fully Vaccinated (2 weeks following final dose) close contacts do not need to quarantine, but should monitor for symptoms. If a close contact (vaccinated or unvaccinated) develops symptoms during their quarantine period, the close contact should quarantine for 10 calendar days from the onset of symptoms, regardless of a negative test result. The Covid test must be performed at a medical facility or pharmacy drive-thru by a trained medical professional. A test taken at home is not allowed.

Unvaccinated Close Contact Scenarios

  • 7 Day Quarantine with Negative Test (follow enhanced safety precautions)
If the student is a close contact, unvaccinated and has no symptoms, students may return to school after Day 7 with a negative PCR or Antigen test that was administered on day 5, 6, or 7 following exposure to the positive individual. The Covid test must be performed at a medical facility or pharmacy drive-thru by a trained medical professional. A test taken at home is not allowed. The student also must follow enhanced safety precautions, including: remaining symptom-free, wears a mask 100% of the time, practices proper hand washing and social distancing and continues to monitor for symptoms.

  • 10 Day Quarantine with No Test Administered (follow enhanced safety precautions)
If the student is a close contact, unvaccinated and has no symptoms students can return to school after Day 10 if the student follows enhanced safety precautions, including: remaining symptom-free, wears a mask 100% of the time, practices proper hand washing and social distancing and continues to monitor for symptoms.

  • 14 Day Quarantine (full quarantine period if student was not tested and cannot/does not wear mask, social distance or able to follow enhanced safety precautions)
If the student is a close contact, unvaccinated and has no symptoms students can return to school after Day 14 if the student remains symptom free, continues to monitor symptoms and practices proper hand washing and social distancing.

If a close contact (vaccinated or unvaccinated) develops symptoms during their quarantine period, the close contact should quarantine for 10 calendar days from the onset of symptoms, regardless of a negative test result.
