Cedar Hall's Sandifer Awarded "Cause for Applause!"

The EVSC’s first Cause for Applause award for the 2015-2016 school year goes to Barbie Sandifer, community outreach coordinator at Cedar Hall Community School. The EVSC’s Cause for Applause awards recognizes employees who go above and beyond normal job duties.

“There are special people in the world that can make every person they meet feel like the most important person in world. Barbie Sandifer is one of those people,” wrote Tyler Choate, teacher at Cedar Hall, in his nomination letter. Not only does Sandifer know the name of every child she sees, every child knows they are her personal favorite, says Choate. In addition, she continually goes above and beyond to ensure students have what they need to be successful and spends many afternoons and evenings supporting students in any way she can.

“Barbie is a staple in this community because she has proven to be dependable and dedicated to serving our families,” Choate wrote. “She is an advocate for students, families, faculty, and staff and Cedar Hall would not be the same without her.”

Anyone can nominate an employee of the EVSC for the award. Deadline for nominations is the third Friday of each month. Go to http://www.evscschools.com/community/nominate-evsc-employees-exemplary-work for the nomination form. Paper forms are available at the schools for those without access to the Internet.
