Family and Community Engagement (F.A.C.E.)

family, school, communityF.A.C.E. Definition: EVSC defines Family and Community Engagement (F.A.C.E.) as an equitable and meaningful partnership among families, stakeholders, educators, students, and community members that promotes academic and social development from cradle to career.

F.A.C.E. is the second commitment goal in the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation (EVSC) and is fully aligned with our Continuous Improvement Process. F.A.C.E. is not an add-on but is a foundational strategy that is embedded into every aspect of learning.

Our goal is to foster asset-based, multidimensional, two-way communication, build trusting relationships, and position families as co-authors and co-producers in the educational journey. We believe that when families, schools, and communities work together, we create the conditions for all students to thrive.

EVSC is committed to equity-focused family engagement, ensuring access and opportunity for all students in our schools and communities. We embrace and uplift the languages, cultures, and experiences of every family we serve.

As our mission, vision, and core values affirm, we are truly “Better Together.”
