21st Century Afterschool Program Transportation

The 21st Century Community Learning Center (21st CCLC) is committed to providing safe, reliable, and equitable transportation for all participating students to ensure full access to afterschool programming. Transportation services are an essential component of our commitment to educational equity and participation.

Transportation Expectations

Eligibility
  • Transportation is available for students enrolled in the 21st CCLC afterschool program and who qualify based on residency and program location.
  • Students with IEPs that require transportation will receive services in accordance with their plan.

Safety Requirements
  • All students must follow bus safety rules at all times.
  • A staff member or program aide may accompany students during transportation as needed to ensure safety and proper behavior.
  • Vehicles used meet all local, state, and federal safety standards.

Behavioral Expectations
  • Students must remain seated, follow driver/staff instructions, and respect others during transit.
  • Repeated violations of bus rules may result in suspension or removal from transportation privileges.

Pick-Up & Drop-Off
  • Parents/guardians must ensure someone is available to meet the student at the drop-off location if required.
  • Families are responsible for notifying the program of any changes to pick-up locations or authorized guardians.

Late Pick-Ups
  • Repeated late pick-ups from designated drop-off locations may result in review of transportation eligibility.
  • Parents/guardians are expected to communicate any delays in advance.

Accessibility & Inclusion
  • The program ensures accessible transportation options for students with disabilities.
  • Language and translation services are available to ensure all families understand transportation procedures.
