In the EVSC, we strive for each student to reach his or her optimal success. In order to do this, maintaining on-track status is paramount. Teachers and administrators monitor each child’s progress using multiple sources of data on a weekly, monthly, bi-annual, and annual basis. We are very excited when our students reach their goal; however, it is important that we support every child so that they may excel to their highest potential.
Response to Intervention (RTI) is one strategy, or approach, within a multi-faceted supports model. Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) combines academic and self-regulation supports for all students at varying levels of intensity. The supports provided for students within RTI are designed to ensure students are on-track for success. RTI supports range from remediation (or small doses of instruction on a specific skill) to evidenced-based instructional programs that are designed to target skills students have not yet mastered.
