Keeping Students on Track

In the EVSC, we strive for each student to reach his or her optimal success. In order to do this, maintaining on-track status is paramount. Teachers and administrators monitor each child’s progress using multiple sources of data on a weekly, monthly, bi-annual, and annual basis. We are very excited when our students reach their goal; however, it is important that we support every child so that they may excel to their highest potential.

Response to Intervention (RTI) is one strategy, or approach, within a multi-faceted supports model. Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) combines academic and social emotional supports for all students at varying levels of intensity. The supports provided for students within RTI are designed to ensure students are on-track for success. RTI supports range from remediation (or small doses of instruction on a specific skill) to evidenced-based instructional programs that are designed to target skills students have not yet mastered.
