What is the EVSC Foundation?
We leverage community partnerships and resources to empower all students to thrive. We are the official not-for-profit agency of the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation (EVSC) and are legally, financially, and operationally separate from the EVSC. We help channel additional funds and efforts to sustain excellence in public education by obtaining funding and disbursing those funds to cover costs beyond the reach of district funding. We connect individuals and organizations to schools to address current needs in the EVSC and support high-quality learning experiences that help students develop skills for lifelong success.

We do this work to build a transformed community where every student enjoys meaningful access to world-class learning experiences that prepare them to succeed in school and beyond. We believe a great education can bring a lifetime of opportunities for each student, their family, and our community. We invest in public education, knowing that with the right nurture and support, children can grow into our future leaders and agents of change. A few of the needs we help support include:
  • Clothing, shoes, hygiene products and other basic needs (funding for eyeglasses, etc.)
  • Emergency shelter following a fire
  • Testing fees for professional certification following graduation from a vocational program
  • Musical instruments
  • Participation in athletics
  • Classroom supplies and professional learning opportunities for educators

How does the EVSC Foundation support EVSC students and teachers?
We provide funding directly to EVSC schools and programs like Opt IN, the Medical Professions Academy, Academic Superbowl, EVSC Athletics, New Tech’s STEM Fest, the Festival of Nations, and many more. We also help connect potential volunteers to EVSC based on their gifts and interests. In addition, we run specific programs that directly benefit students and teachers:
  • Hangers provides free clothing and hygiene products to in-need students so they can look, feel and perform their best every day.
  • Educator Grants fund innovative classroom and school projects and professional learning opportunities for educators. They fuel educators’ creativity, and elevate their voice and expertise to support greater student success.
  • Teacher Locker provides FREE classroom supplies for teachers so they can avoid spending as much from their own pockets to support student success.
  • Summer Musical and Children’s Theater provide engaged learning experiences that build character, confidence, team work, and fine arts skills that help students succeed in school and beyond.
  • Student Response Fund provides eyeglasses, textbook fees, transportation to student competitions – you name it! – for our most in-need students so everyone, regardless of their background, can succeed.
  • Scholarship Opportunities provide our graduating EVSC Students assistance that may be needed to continue their education career.
