Tier 2 instruction will be provided for students who have not yet mastered certain content or skills in reading, math, and possibly self-regulation skills.
Each school in the district is provided with multiple intervention programs targeted to strengthen a wide variety of skills. Students who participate in Tier 2 will do so in a small group for 30-40 minutes each day, three to five days per week. Their progress will be monitored on a bi-weekly basis. Parents are encouraged to monitor their child's progress while participating in the intervention, and if possible, practice specific skill at home (reading at night, reviewing homework in math, etc.).
Tier 2 instruction occurs in addition to Tier 1 instruction. Students will not miss universal learning to participate in Tier 2, rather, will be provided with Tier 2 supports in addition to Tier 1.
