Reporting An Absence

SafeArrival launch
Beginning Monday, October 3, the EVSC will utilize SafeArrival for families to report absences. SafeArrival will make it quicker and easier for families to report either full day or partial day absences, or those instances where a student needs to leave school early, or will arrive late.

With SafeArrival, families can report a student absence in three ways: over the phone, online, or through the SchoolMessenger mobile app. Each option is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and absences can be reported in advance.

To report an Absence:
Please use one of the three ways listed below. Please report your absence by 9 a.m. In addition, if your student will miss due to a doctor's visit, please provide the doctor's statement within one week of the absence.

Only doctor's statements, legal statements and funeral statements are considered excused absences.(Excused absences are the only absences that do not count against the absences for pre-court purposes. Click here for more information on students who have multiple absences.)

If you have any questions regarding attendance, please contact your child's school.

phoneBy Phone:
Families can report an absence over the phone by calling the interactive attendance line at 844-434-0079 or, call your child's school and Press 1 to report your absence. Then, follow the prompts to report an absence. Once you report the absence, you will receive a confirmation number at the end of the call. This ensures your absence is reported. The SafeArrival system may ask for your phone number for verification purposes. Please make sure to enter the phone number that we have for you at your student’s school. You can change your phone number through EVSC Parent Access or contact your child’s school. Once your phone number is updated, you will be able to utilize the phone system the next morning.
