Reporting An Absence

To report an Absence:
Please use one of the three ways listed below to report an absence. Please report full day and partial day absences, or instances where your student will need to leave school early or arrive late.

Please report your absence by 9 a.m. In addition, if your student will miss due to a doctor's visit, please provide the doctor's statement within one week of the absence. Only doctor's statements, legal statements and funeral statements are considered excused absences.(Excused absences are the only absences that do not count against the absences for pre-court purposes. Families can report an absence over the phone by calling the interactive attendance line at 844-434-0079 or, call your child's school and Press 1 to report your absence. Then, follow the prompts to report an absence. Once you report the absence, you will receive a confirmation number at the end of the call. This ensures your absence is reported. The SafeArrival system may ask for your phone number for verification purposes. Please make sure to enter the phone number that we have for you at your student’s school. You can change your phone number through the PowerSchool Parent Portal (under Forms) or contact your child’s school. Once your phone number is updated, you will be able to utilize the phone system the next morning.

To report an absence online, visit go.schoolmessenger.com. Sign in or create an account using your email address that we have on file at your student's school. Once you are signed in, select Attendance and report your absence. Note: In order to sign in or create an account, you must use your email address that we have on file at your student’s school. You can update your email address via the PowerSchool Parent Portal or you can contact your student’s school. Once your email is updated, please wait until the next morning to sign up. 


SchoolMessenger appMobile App: Using your mobile device, download and install the SchoolMessenger app from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store. The first time you use the app, select Sign Up to create your account. Enter your email address that we have on file at your student's school. (Please notify your school to update your email address, if necessary.) Once signed in, select "Attendance" then "Report an Absence." Note: In order to sign in or create an account, you must use your email address that we have on file at your student’s school. You can update your email address via the PowerSchool Parent Portal or you can contact your student’s school. Once your email is updated, please wait until the next morning to sign up.
